Pakistan, India hectic engagements begin on June 17
New Delhi, June 17 PPI: Pakistan and India will have engagements starting June 17 Tuesday for talks on wide range of issues including meeting between their Foreign Ministers on June 28.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrives here June 27 on three-day visit for talks with his
Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek, trade and terrorism. He will call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Chairperson of United Progressive Alliance Sonia Gandhi and opposition leader L K Advani.
Railways officials begin 3-day meeting on June 17 to discuss operational matters on
freight and passengers trains running between two countries. There is proposal to
increase freight train frequency from two to four per day to boost trade.
Salman Faruqui, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, will lead a delegation for
discussions with his Indian counterpart on June 24 to share experiences on economic
matters.
Law Minister Farooq Naik is also expected here on June 28 to attend a meeting of law experts.
