U.S. President Bush for better co-operation between Pakistan & Afghanistan
London, June 17 PPI: United States President George Bush Monday called for more cooperation between Pakistan, Afghanistan and coalition forces in Afghanistan to tackle extremists in forceful way.
Addressing joint news conference with British Prime Minister George Bush after
their talks here Bush described situation on Pak-Afghan border as ``testy'' and
suggested more dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He called for re-starting
Jirga process and said this dialogue in the past had been useful.
He said better trilateral co-operation between Pakistan, Afghanistan and NATO could
lead to positive situation in the region. Saying extremists must not have a safe
haven, Bush said his country could help promote better co-operation between all three parties.
He arrived Sunday in London on last leg of his final European tour before he leaves office in January 2009.
