Krishna also urged the Australian government to bring
the perpetrators of the attacks to book and put in place more
effective security measures to ensure the safety of the Indian
community there.

Earlier, the minister had also said that these continuous
assaults do not "augur well" for bilateral ties.
Reacting to the latest attack on an Indian taxi driver in
Melbourne which was the fifth such assault on Indian cabbies
within a week, he said "I have just heard the news. I am
expecting a report from our High Commissioner and after
getting the report perhaps I must have something to say.
"But it is very unfortunate that they keep repeating,
which does not augur well for our bilateral relationship," the
minister said. PTI PYK
