GANDHI-KRISHNA 2LST

Krishna said, "Mahatma Gandhi not only led India to
freedom through his unique method of Satyagraha, he also
inspired a number of nations who wanted to become free from
the colonial yoke."
He said Gandhiji never hated anyone.
One group of people he loved most was the Britishers.
He was fighting for certain principles.
India is doubly blessed that we were led by such a
great leader. Let's rededicate ourselves to the principles of
Mahatma Gandhi.
Indian High Commissioner to the UK Nalin Surie said
Mahatma Gandhi fought for "truth, non-violence and tolerance"
and his message that "ends do not justify means" is relevant
even today.
The High commissioner said the souvenir is a modest
attempt to piece together some of the highlights of the
Mahatma's stay in the UK and the advice that he held out for
Indians visiting Britain at that point in time.
"Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian, but his message was
universal. It is as relevant today as it was then. The latter
has been clearly recognised by such distinguished activists
and political leaders as the late Martin Luther King, Vaclav
Havel, Nelson Mandela and President Barack Obama. PTI
