UAE Foreign Minister meets Governor of Queensland

Queensland - Feb 3, 2010 (WAM)- Ms Penelope Wensley, Governor of Queensland yesterday evening met HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister at the government headquarters. UAE Foreign Minister confirmed that his visit to Australia comes under UAE leadership keenness to extend bridges of cooperation with the countries of the world in general and Australia in particular.
He also asserted the importance of exchanging visits between officials of both countries to identify the development programs and mechanisms.
For her part, Queensland Governor welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and expressed the desire to make further efforts to consolidate the prospects for bilateral cooperation at various levels to achieve the ambitions and aspirations of people of both countries.
She also commended the strong relations and constructive cooperation which connects her country and UAE noting the outstanding and pioneering achievements of the UAE in various fields which make it focus of attention of the whole world.
The meeting underscored the need to exchange experiences in the field of scientific research and training and higher education. The meeting was attended by senior official from both sides.
