6th Indo-US Economic Summit on Feb 16-17

New Delhi, Feb 9 (PTI) Corporates and policy makers from
India and America would meet in the Indian capital on February
16-17 at the Sixth Indo-US Economic Summit to discuss the
current economic engagement between the two countries and to
strengthen the relationship.

"Besides, the regular features like trade and commerce,
this year the summit stands out for innovative strategies,"
Summit Chairman Lalit Bhasin told at the press conference.
The summit would be organised by the Indo-American
Chamber of Commerce (IACC).
He further said, that focus attention would be on the
services sector, particularly export of services from India.
On asked whether US President Obama's comment that it is
time to end tax breaks to American firms that farm out jobs
overseas would affect relationship between the two countries,
Bhasin said, "market forces would play a big role in it".
Bhasin added that a panel discussion would also take
place on the synergies among India, China, and the US
partnership for global development.
Around 300 delegates are expected to attend the event.
The Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, Union Minister of New
and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah, Deputy Chief of Mission
of the US Embassy Steven J White and the National Aviation
Company of India Ltd (Nacil) chairman Arvind Jadhav are among
the dignitaries who are expected to attend the meet. PTI BSP
