Ranganathan's Pakistani counterpart Jamaat Ali Shah
said Pakistan’s concerns over the sharing of river waters had
been conveyed to the Indian delegation.
Shah said a Pakistani delegation would visit India
next month to conduct inspections in line with the provisions
of the Indus Waters Treaty.
Differences over the sharing of river waters have
emerged as a major irritant in ties between India and Pakistan
over the past two years.
Pakistani leaders have accused India of diverting the
country's share of water by building several dams in Jammu and
Kashmir.
India has denied the charges and offered to address
Pakistan's concerns during the proposed talks at the level of
the Foreign Secretaries. PTI
