CBI identifies key areas to improve agency's performance
New Delhi, Feb 12 (PTI) In an exercise aimed at improving
efficiency and transforming it, the Central Bureau of
Investigation has identified five key result areas which will
be monitored by the agency for formulating detailed action
plan and to assess its performance.
According to CBI Director Ashwani Kumar, these areas
contain the tasks and targets to be achieved in 2010.
Following a detailed discussions with law officers, heads
of branches and heads of zones, the five key result areas
earmarked are integrity, image and impact, registration and
investigation, legal and prosecution, technical, forensic and
coordination and administration and training.
"It is hoped that these priorities and outcomes will turn
2010-the year of transformation for the CBI," an official
release said.
The detailed lists of tasks to be accomplished and
results to be achieved during the year under 'integrity, image
and impact' would be prompt enquiry, investigation followed by
exemplary action on all complaints, cases against CBI
personnel and zero tolerance to corruption and officers of
doubtful integrity in the CBI.
Each division (Anti Corruption Department (ACD), Economic
Offence Department (EOD), Special Crime Division (SCD),
Directorate of Prosecution (DoP), Central Forensic Science
Laboratory (CFSL), policy, coordination, and administration
and training have been specifically asked to identify thrust
