Among the 30 Sensex stocks, 19 closed in the red led by
Tata Steel and financial scrips, while 11 ended with gains.

Thakkar of Angel Broking further said another key positive
spelt out in the rail budget is the resolve to strengthen
railway freight, and plans to set up private freight terminals
and multi-modal logistics and mega logistics hubs, which would
be beneficiary for the rail container operators.
On the global front, barring China, all other Asian
indices closed down. Similarly, European indices displayed a
feeble trend in their morning deals following a steep fall on
the Wall Street on Tuesday.
From the BSE sectoral losers, consumer durables index led
the list by dropping 1.31 per cent followed by helathcare 0.64
per cent, and auto that shed 0.43 per cent.
Among the 30 Sensex counters, Sun Pharma dipped by 2.51
per cent, M&M 2.43 per cent, RelCom 1.96 per cent, Tata
Motors 1.71 per cent, Tata Steel 1.56 per cent, Bharti
Airtel 1.38 per cent and RelInfra 1.22 per cent.
Among the sectoral gainers the realty index topped the
list with a 0.93 per cent jump. Maruti Suzuki was the biggest
gainer with a 2.38 per cent jump followed by NTPC 1.36 per
cent and L&T by 0.80 per cent.
Total market breadth remained weak as 1,851 stocks closed
with losses against 948 that ended with gains on the BSE.
Total volume shot up to Rs 4,578.74 crore from Rs
3,558.90 crore on Tuesday. DB Realty, listed today, was the
top volume grosser with Rs 921.42 crore followed by
Emmbi Polyarns, which also made a debut today, (Rs 227.35
crore), Titagarh Wagon (Rs 186.33 crore) and Aqua Logistic (Rs
