Sensex regains 17k level after six weeks

Mumbai, Mar 3 (PTI) The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark
Sensex regained the 17,000-points level in the pre-close trade
Wednesday on aggressive buying in heavy-weight stocks on
expectations of a fast economic growth.
The Sensex, which remained bullish in the last two
trading sessions, added 239.49 to 17,012.05 at 1515 hrs, after
Nomura Holdings raised the nation's economic growth forecast
and a report showed sharp upsurge in industrial and export
data.
The National Stock Exchange index Nifty also rose by
74.05 points to 5,091.05 at the same time. PTI
