Woods jokes scrapped from Oscars, Cameron says bring it on
New York, Mar 7 (PTI) The Academy Awards have scrapped
Tiger Woods jokes that were to be performed by hosts Steve
Martin and Alec Baldwin.'
"Some of the Tiger jokes were deemed too rude," a
source told the New York Post.
In other Oscars news, Avatar director, James
Cameron has reportedly said he doesn't mind Avatar jokes.
Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen along with Ben Stiller
were expected to poke fun at Avatar at the show but the slot
was cancelled.
It was rumoured that its had taken out of the
schedule because the Award producers did not want to offend
any of the nominees but Cameron told E Online that the
cancellation has nothing do with him.
"I don't know anything about that. I don't produce
the Oscars. If they want to poke fun at 'Avatar' Sunday,
that's OK by me," Cameron said.
"The Oscars are a celebration of movies. Even the
gaffes and out-of-bounds stuff are all part of the fun."
In an interview with National Public Radio
(NPR), Oscars producer Adam Shankman said that Cohen was in
the running as host but the Academy decided it was "too big
of a wild card." PTI BS
