AUS-LD ARREST 2 LAST

Meanwhile, the parents of Gurshan thanked the police
and the Australian public for their support since their son
disappeared last Thursday.
Family friend Tim Singh Laurence said the boy's
parents are anxiously awaiting the release of his body.
"That is their main focus for the next few days, but
they are grateful for the work that Victorian police are
doing," he said.
"(They) were not just coping with the loss of a
three-year-old, but also coping with not knowing what would
happen. So that is some small relief, thanks to the Victoria
police," Laurence told reporters here.
"They were also touched by people who sent messages of
support from all over the state, from all communities and from
all faiths," he said.
The toddler's death came as Australia strives to
bolster ties with India following a series of attacks against
Indian students, including the murder of 21-year-old Nitin
Garg in January.
Shocked over toddler's death, Australian Prime
Minister Kevin Rudd had pledged to get to the bottom of the
"horrible" incident.
"This is a really horrible story," Rudd said.
"The death of any little child causes everyone in this
country to stop, pause, think, reflect. If this is a case of
murder, there is nothing worse than the brutal murder of a
little child. The authorities are investigating it and we have
every confidence the authorities will get to the bottom of
it," he had said. PTI
