USAID OFFICE RECEIVES BOMB THREAT
Makassar, S Sulawesi, July 7 (ANTARA) - The USAID office in the Indonesian city of Makassar received a first-ever bomb threat from an unidentified caller on Monday.
Spokesman for the USAID office, Udin, quoted the caller as saying that he had planted a bomb in the office's sewer and it would explode soon.
"I was shocked when I received the phone call. The caller who spoke in a husky voice claimed he had planted a bomb in the sewer. I told the police that our office had received a bomb threat," he said.
The police later sent a bomb defusing squad to the scene.
A number of anti-terror police personnel from the South Sulawesi provincial police combed the office, including the sewer but they found no bomb.
