CIA,INTERPOL AMERICAN FUGITIVE HANDED OVER TO BOGOR PROSECUTION
Bogor, July 15 (ANTARA) - The Bogor Immigration Office will hand over American citizen Robert Bob Marshall (59) accused of violating the immigration law, along with his dossier, to the Bogor Prosecution Office.
Head of the Bogor Immigration Office Ibrahim Saleh said here on Monday that actually Robert Bob Marshall's dossier had already been completed two weeks ago, and ready to be submitted to the Bogor Prosecution Office.
"But as Robert Bob Marshall is also wanted by the CIA, and American, British and Russian Interpol since 1074, and as the Bogor Prosecution Office believed that Robert was involved in a high-profile case, he would be handed over only certain conditions," Ibrahim Saleh said in di Bogor on Monday.
One of the conditions, he said, is the presence of an independent and self-sufficient interpreter, which is not easy to get by these days.
"After a coordination with the Immigration Directorate General in Jakarta, such authorized and sworn interpreter was eventually found," he said.
Now that the request had been met, he said, the accused would be handed over to the Bogor Prosecution Office on Monday.
Ibrahim said that an investigation by a team of the Bogor Immigration Office revealed that Robert Marshall was an international syndicate criminal.
Robert had been a fugutive for about 33 years during which he managed to escape the law by changing his identities and even his physical appearance. He has more than 50 passports on different names and identities issued by a number of countries.
A Bogor Immigration Office officer arrested Robert Bob Marshall, when he was about to make an Indonesian passport at the Bogor Immigration Office last January, using the name Rugan M Faisal, after obtaining a fake Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta identity card (KTP).
At that time, the Bogor Immigration Office officer became suspicious of Robert who said he is an Indonesian citizen and lived in Bogor, but did not speak fluent Indonesian. After interviewing him, he could not answer several questions, and the immigration officer arrested him for further questioning.
Ibrahim said Robert will be accused of violating articles 48 and 53 of Immigration Law of 1992, and article 139 of the Penal Code.
