ADACH's Oud House presents an Authentic Arabian Musical night in Assilah

Assilah, Morocco - July 26, 2010 (WAM)- In an outstanding Arabian night, musicians from the Bait Al Oud Al Arabi performed number of Arabian authentic music on Thursday night at prince Bandar Bin Sultan in the ongoing Assilah Festival in Morocco.
The performance was presented by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (Adach) as part of its participation in the 32nd Assilah Festival where UAE the guest of honour this year.
The musical group included Oud players and Qanoun players: Ahmed Hameed, Ayad al Khalidy, Sherin Tohamy, Faisal Ahmed, Bassam Abdel Sattar and Mohammad Tabbara.
They performed in harmony great masterpieces that represent the greatness of Arab music such as musical pieces by legendary composers Mohammed Abdul Wahab, Munir Basheir and Nasser Shamma. The programme also included other musical pieces such as "Life Mural,” "Tour of Arab Souks" "Common Destiny" and others.
The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) established Bait al Oud Al Arabi in line with its global cultural strategy; one that is premised on cultural diversity and the solid conviction that culture and heritage will lead the overarching developmental project in the Emirati capital and the UAE at large.
Bait al Oud thus came as a qualitative addition to ADACH's rich cultural portfolio, bringing a new nuance to an already flamboyant palette of artistic initiatives.
ADACH is also holding several workshops and art exhibitions, lectures and seminars in Assilah Festival. These will address the topics such as the book industry and publishing (especially the Abu Dhabi Book Fair), Kitab, Qalam and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. There will also be a workshop addressing the current unique market for UAE handicrafts. The festival will run from July 10th to July 27th.
ADACH, along with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Masdar are representing UAE officially at the Assilah Festival as a guest of honour this year. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
