First congress of Kazakh Azerbaijanis held in Almaty

Almaty, November 1 (AzerTAc). The first congress of the Association of Kazakh Azerbaijanis was held in Almaty.
The congress was attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Zakir Hashimov, members of Assembly of Peoples of Kazakhstan, heads of cultural centers of several countries, representatives of the Azerbaijan State Committee on the work with Diaspora.
The congress elected Abulfaz Khamedov as a head of the Association of Kazakhstan`s Azerbaijanis and Gahraman Bashirov as a chief of the inspection commission.
Opening the congress Abulfaz Khamedov spoke about the congress`s agenda and reported on the progress achieved in recent years.
Participants of the congress sent the messages to Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.
