U.S. watching today`s elections with great interest, Embassy Chargé d`Affaires
Baku, November 7 (AzerTAc). “The Unites States is watching today`s elections with great interest,” Embassy Chargé d`Affaires Adam Sterling, who monitored the voting process in polling station No. 3 in the Nasimi constituency, told journalists.
According to Sterling, the US Embassy has sent 31 staff members to observe the election in Baku and regions throughout Azerbaijan, adding another 45 Americans are participating in the OSCE /ODIHR election observation mission.
Sterling noted: “As Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said during her visit to Baku, the United States` strongest partnerships are with democratic countries.”
“The U.S. Government believes that Azerbaijan`s long term stability and prosperity, and our ability to deepen the U.S.-Azerbaijan relationship, will be best guaranteed by democratic and economic reform in Azerbaijan.”
