Azeri consul visits San Diego

Baku, November 10 (AzerTAc). Consul General of Azerbaijan to Los-Angeles Elin Suleymanov and Vice-Consul Ramil Gurbanov visited the city of San Diego at the invitation of a group of residents of the Switzer district who are interested in establishing bilateral ties with one of districts of Baku.
The Azerbaijani diplomats met with management of San Diego public TV and learnt of the operations of the “Public” architectural group.
Speaking to teachers of the San Diego State University, Suleymanov told of the centuries-old traditions of tolerance in Azerbaijan. He underscored the country`s leading role in the geostrategic region. He highlighted Azerbaijani leadership`s policy to intensify dialogue of cultures and civilizations.
During the trip, the diplomats attended the Azerbaijani culture party. An official message of a member of the city council Todd Gloria read out at the event highlighted the establishment of the Muslim world`s first democratic republic in Azerbaijan and declared “Day of Azerbaijan” in the district 3 of San Diego.
Suleymanov also spoke at the Scripps College`s Center for European Union in the city of Claremont. He underlined the need to give up ethnic radicalism, chauvinism, and double standards policy in order to step up integration processes in Europe.
