Azerbaijan`s ICT Ministry conducts training program with support of EBRD

Baku, November 11 (AzerTAc). Starting from this week, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan (MCIT) with support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will conduct “Training program for regulation of telecommunications sector” for representatives of ministries, other relevant government agencies as well as employees of telecommunications operators operating in Azerbaijan.
The themes of the program, which will cover a wide range of areas (global trends of telecommunications sector, bases of the competitive market, entry to telecommunications markets and gateway connection, universal service, regulation and licensing of limited resources, regulation of tariffs, development of broadband services, etc.) and will be presented by a team of international experts with comprehensive experience in the given field.
The eight-week training program will be continued from November 2010 to April 2011. Due to participants` employment and to enforce their current job commitments, it was decided to conduct trainings every two weeks from 9:00 to 13:00. Active participants will be granted corresponding certificates.
Note that the training program proposed by the EBRD to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, is important for obtaining relevant knowledge, studying international advanced practice, as well as meeting the demand for highly qualified experts in this sector to effectively regulate communications and information technologies sector in the republic.
