Azerbaijani diplomats visit state of Arizona
Baku, November 20 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s consul general in Los-Angeles Elin Suleymanov and vise-consul general Ramil Gurbanov have visited the state of Arizona. The diplomats attended a seminar held in Phoenix together with Arizona Chamber of Commerce.
The seminar focused on Azerbaijan`s non-oil sector, its alternative energy resources and development of new technologies.
During his lectures at the Arizona State University and the University of Arizona, the consul general emphasized that Azerbaijan was pursuing an independent policy regarding energy security and regional integration based on pragmatism and interests of people.
He said Azerbaijan was a reliable partner. Suleymanov stressed it was vey important that United States show the same strategic approach towards his country.
“For example, despite the occupation of Azerbaijan`s territories is a threat to peace and stability in the region, members of the international community does not use all opportunities for the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
Speaking about policy of Azerbaijan`s leadership on tolerance and dialogue of cultures, Suleymanov said all countries should act against radicalism and refuse “double standards” and discrimination.
