United Nations turns 65
Baku, November 25 (AzerTAc). On November 24, 65 years elapse since beginning of official activity of the United Nations Organization (United Nations).
Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations has been established after collapse of the Soviet Union and regaining by the country its independence. On March 2, 1992 Azerbaijan became member of the United Nations.
In 1993 the UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict (number 822, 853, 874, 884). Each resolution has been adopted as a result of occupation of Nagorno Karabakh and other territories of Azerbaijan by the armed forces of Armenia. In these four resolutions once again confirming territorial inviolability of Azerbaijan, the UN demands immediate ceasefire, suspension of military operations and withdrawal of aggressor troops from territories of Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, the mentioned resolutions were not implemented till now.
