IRNA-BTA to broaden professional cooperation

Sofia, Nov 30, IRNA - IRNA Managing Director Ali-Akbar Javanfekr and his Bulgarian counterpart Maxim Minchev here on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on expansion of professional cooperation between the two news agencies.
The MoU has called for expansion of mutual cooperation in training, technical, multi-media, news pools as well as exchange of expert delegations between the two news agencies.
Prior to the signing of the MoU, the two managing directors discussed their news agencies' potentials and studied prospects of future cooperation.
In the meeting, Javanfekr, invited his Bulgarian counterpart to visit Iran in order to become more acquainted with IRNA.
Javanfekr, who is also the presidential press advisor, arrived in Sofia, Bulgaria, from Istanbul where he attended the General Assembly of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) which kicked off Thursday.
During his stay, Javanfekr will meet with Bulgaria's deputy foreign minister and head of the electronic media council on issues of mutual interests./end
