Turkish media representatives visit AzerTAc
Baku, December 1 (AzerTAc). A Turkish media delegation led by Murat Karakaya, chief of General Directorate of Press and Information of the Prime Minister`s Office, has today visited Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc).
Director General of AzerTAc Aslan Aslanov raised the awareness of the media representatives about AzerTAc`s history and role of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in development of the national news agency.
Aslanov praised efforts of heads of states to strengthen the unity of the Turkic world, highlighting the importance of further expanding cooperation between media organizations of the “fraternal” nations.
AzerTAc`s chief said his agency is an “active” member of a number of leading news alliances like European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) and Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA). Aslanov said AzerTAc was recently reelected a member of OANA Executive Board at the organization`s 14th session held in Istanbul.
Aslanov hailed “effective” cooperation between AzerTAc and Turkish Anadolu Agency and informed the visitors about joint efforts of the two agencies to strengthen the activities of Association of Turkic Speaking News Agencies (TKA).
Karakaya stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish media. He expressed assurance the upcoming Baku seminar on exchange of experience would make a “great” contribution to this issue.
