“Context” magazine`s 2nd issue presented
Baku, December 4 (AzerTAc). The second issue of the “Context” magazine published by the U.S. Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association has today been presented here.
Editor-in-chief of the magazine, Anar Valiyev said in the event on the occasion, it reflects full range of the current policy and analytical work from many disciplines and theoretical perspectives. He noted the magazine serves as a channel for US-Educated Azerbaijani alumni to share their knowledge and skills on various issues with wider society, to provide policy recommendations for multiple stakeholders in Azerbaijan, including government, civil society and academia.
Valiyev noted the “Context” was also becoming a unique chance for young students, scholars and practitioners in Azerbaijan and abroad to get published on issues that matter for Azerbaijan.
According to the editor-in-chief, another aim of the magazine is to spur research on Azerbaijan and region, encourage comparative studies and try to give unique chance to students, young scholars and researchers to get published. It serves as a link between business, governmental, scholar and scholarly communities. He pointed out the first issue of the magazine was dedicated to issues of education reforms in the country. He added the second issue features several articles addressing the environmental issues in Azerbaijan-alternative energy policy, urban restructuring and problems of green space in Baku and transition to Euro-2 standards in Azerbaijan. “In addition, the magazine includes articles on various important policy issues: mortgage market, development of non-oil sector and food safety.”
Attending the event, head of the U.S. Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Association, Jeyhun Karamov briefed the participants on the activity of the organization. He also spoke of the projects carried out by the Association.
