Azeri minister: “A consortium will be set up to deal with implementation of TASIM project”
Baku, December 6 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s minister of communication and information technologies Ali Abbasov said a consortium will be set up next year to deal with the implementation of the Trans-Eurasian Information Superhighway (TASIM) project.
“The project is now being discussed by the region`s leading operators,” the minister told journalists.
“The countries participating in the TASIM have already expressed readiness to take concrete steps towards realizing the project.”
The Trans-Eurasian Information Superhighway is an initiative proposed by Azerbaijan to expand inexpensive high-speed access to the Internet and bridge the digital divide between East and West.
