PHILIPPINES OVERALL CHAMPION IN PADANG INTL DRAGON BOAT RACE
Padang, W Sumatra, Aug 10 (ANTARA)- The Philippines' dragon boat race team became overall champion in the 2008 international dragon boat race by grabbing five gold medals here on Sunday.
"It is very difficult for us to win this race because the Indonesian team is very strong," Hakim Judhit, head of the Philippines' women rowing team said.
She made the remarks regarding the success of the Philippines' men and women rowing teams in five events respectively in the 6th international dragon boat race conducted by Padang city administration in cooperation with Dji Sam Soe.
The participants in the dragon boat race include those from the Philippines, Malaysia, Padang (West Sumatra), Tebo Jambi and Riau.
