Lavrov praises Mottaki’s efforts to promote Iran-Russia ties
TEHRAN, Dec. 27 (MNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov sent a message to former Iranian Foreign Minster Manouchehr Mottaki, praising him for his diligent efforts to enhance Iran-Russia relationship during his tenure.
In the message, Lavrov called Mottaki a “deft diplomat” who perseveringly followed the policy of good neighborliness toward Russia.
On December 13, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed Mottaki from his post. The move provoked criticism from the parliamentarians who believed Mottaki was not removed courteously.
