Azerbaijan`s ambassador interviewed by Argentina`s newspaper
Baku, December 29 (AzerTAc). El Ciudadano newspaper, which is part of the Argentina`s biggest media holding, has published an interview with Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Argentina Mammad Ahmadzade.
In his interview, the diplomat touched on the path passed by Azerbaijan after regaining its independence, progress achieved in Azerbaijan under leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan`s becoming a leader in the region, diverting energy revenues to development of non-oil sector and development of regions.
According to him, the Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan resulted in occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani lands, displacement of a million Azerbaijanis from their homes. The ambassador said Azerbaijan favors peaceful resolution of the conflict, adding the conflict poses a serious threat to peace in the region.
Ahmadzadeh noted the aim of opening the embassy in Argentina, the first one in the South America, is to develop cooperation with the country and raise this region`s awareness about Azerbaijan truths.
