Ashtiani, her son to sue two German nationals
TEHRAN, Jan. 4 (MNA) -- Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, who was convicted of adultery and murder, and her son Sajjad Qaderzadeh said they will sue the two German nationals for coaxing Qaderzadeh to conduct an unauthorized interview with them.
The two German nationals, journalists from Bild and Sonntag, who entered Iran on tourist visas were arrested in October for trying to interview Qaderzadeh without having obtained journalistic credentials.
Ashtiani broke the story in talks with reporters on Saturday when she met her son outside a prison in Tabriz.
She said the reason for filing a complaint against the two Germans is that they coaxed her son into agreeing to have an interview, which led to his arrest.
Qaderzadeh was imprisoned for more than a month for scheduling an interview with the German nationals.
Ashtiani also criticized her lawyers for what she described as efforts to politicize her case.
The convict also rejected reports by Western media outlets that her interviews and confessions were made under pressure.
Qaderzadeh also said he would take legal action against Issa Taheri, who murdered his father in collaboration with his mother.
In addition, Malek Ajdar Sharifi, a judiciary official in Tabriz said on Monday that no decision has been made to commute Ashtiani’s sentence.
However, Ajdar Sharifi also said that no order has been issued by the Judiciary to implement Ashtiani’s verdict.
He said that Ashtiani’s stoning sentence will go ahead, if the order is issued.
