Iranian ships in Singapore released

TEHRAN, Jan. 6 (MNA) -- The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) announced on Wednesday that the three Iranian ships which had been seized in the Singaporean waters have been released after efforts by Iranian officials.

A court in Singapore had ordered that the ships be seized, claiming that Iran had not repaid the loan it received from a bank in France to buy the ships.

Mohammad Hossein Dajmar, director of IRISL, told that all debts have been settled and the ships will return to Iran soon.

Dajmar had previously said that the seizure of the three ships was politically motivated.
