Iran, Turkey call for expansion of housing ties

TEHRAN, Jan. 8 (MNA) -- Iranian Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ali Nikzad and Turkish Minister of Housing and Public Works, Mustafa Demir, held a meeting in Ankara on Friday.

During the meeting the two sides called for expansion of ties in the housing and urban development field.

Tehran and Ankara have agreed on accelerating the investment of the two countries’ private sectors in the field.

Nikzad called the cooperation between the two neighboring countries in the field of mass housing promising and added, “Currently two Turkish companies are constructing 25,000 residential units in Iran.”

Demir for his side stated that,” Iran and Turkey have high potentials and can even carry out projects in third countries.”

The Iranian minister of housing and urban development arrived in Ankara on Thursday.

During his three-day stay, Nikzad will discuss possible ways for increasing bilateral investments with Turkish governmental officials.
