Female US spy ordered to shoot film of Iran’s borders
TEHRAN, Jan. 9 (MNA)-- Brigadier General Ahmad Geravand said the arrested female U.S. spy had received order from the United States to shoot film of the Jolfa borders and border outposts.
Geravand said Haley Talayan, 34, was arrested on January 5 by the border police officers in border town of Nordouz.
He added that the woman has been handed over to the Intelligence Ministry.
Talayan illegally entered the country through borders with Armenia.
She was found with espionage equipment, including a recording device hidden in her teeth.
Talayan told Iranian security officials that she feared being deported back to Armenia because she would be killed by Armenian security forces.
