Foreign scholars to attend intl. Persian literature congress in Tehran

TEHRAN, Jan. 9 (MNA) -- Foreign scholars will attend the International Congress of World Teachers of Persian Language and Literature which will be held on January 18 and 19 in Tehran.

“The congress is held biennially and we have tried our best to improve the quality of the 7th edition in comparison to the previous ones,” the secretary of the congress Abbas-Ali Vafaii told .

250 guests from 50 countries and about 250 scholars from Iran will attend the event, some of whom will present academic papers during the two-day congress, he said.

“The congress is an opportunity for criticizing and reviewing literary works and is the best time for paying tribute to those who try their best to promote the Persian language,” he mentioned.

Post-revolutionary literature, comparative literature and modern methods of Persian language learning are among the main themes of the congress, Vafaii remarked.

He said that a collection of educational CDs on the Persian language which consists of four CDs and an educational CD for French learners will be unveiled at the ceremony.
