MPs from al-Iraqiya bloc visit Tehran

TEHRAN, Jan. 11 (MNA) -- A delegation of MPs from al-Iraqiya bloc held talks on Monday with Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, the Iranian head of Iran-Iraq Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Falahat-Pisheh said a secure and stable Iraq will benefit the entire region including Iran.

He went on to say that the enemies are seeking to sow discord between Iran and Iraq. However, the MP said Tehran-Baghdad ties will not be undermined under a propaganda campaign by enemies.

The MP added it is Iran’s foreign policy priority to help Iraq maintain its independence, protect its territorial integrity, and restore stability.

Falahatpisheh also said the two countries’ parliaments should provide opportunities for expanding economic, industrial, and trade ties.

The head of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation also said Iran has greatly helped Baghdad in its efforts to restore security in the country.
