Iran`s Intelligence minister warns of terrorist threat to Iran’s scientists
TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (MNA) -- Iran`s Intelligence Ministry officials had warned security officials about the possibility of terrorist attacks on the country’s scientists, Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said in Tehran on Wednesday.
Moslehi told reporters that Intelligence Ministry officials and security officials have different responsibilities.
Terrorists have assassinated a number of Iranian scientists, including Masoud Ali-Mohammadi, a particle physicist who was killed in a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran in January 2010.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Intelligence Ministry announced that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad was behind the assassination of Ali-Mohammadi.
Moslehi said it was the first time that the Mossad played a direct role in a terrorist attack in Iran in 30 years.
