BANK MANDIRI READY TO FINANCE SEMEN GRESIK'S NEW PLANTS

Jakarta, Aug 13 (ANTARA) - Bank Mandiri has expressed interest in channeling Rp4 trillion in loans to cement maker PT Semen Gresik to build two cement factories and 10 power plants.

"Bank Mandiri has agreed to extend Rp4 trillion in loans to finance the construction of the new cement and power plants," Bank Mandiri President Director Agus Martowardojo said here on Tuesday.

Semen Gresik plans to build two cement plants in Central Java and South Sulawesi and 10 electric power plants at a combined cost of US$1.6 billion until 2012.

Nearly US$1.2 billion of the funds will come from foreign sources and the rest from domestic sources.
"We are ready to meet the need for funds from local sources," he said.
