Afghan ambassador summoned to Iran Foreign Ministry
TEHRAN, Jan. 16 (MNA) -- Iran`s Foreign Ministry summoned the Afghan ambassador to Tehran to protest disrespectful behavior by a group of Afghan demonstrators in front of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul.
On Thursday, some angry Afghans stoned the Iranian Embassy in Kabul in protest against the blockade of fuel tankers in the neighboring countries.
Foreign Ministry director for West Asia affairs Mohammad-Ali Qanezadeh voiced Tehran’s objection to the move and called on the Afghan government to deal with the perpetrators.
Qanezadeh warned that such moves may affect relations between the two countries.
The Afghan ambassador, for his part, expressed his regret over the incident and promised that the Kabul government would take necessary measure in this regard.
