Organizers pick Damascus international center of Iranian filmfest
TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (MNA) -- Organizers of Tehran’s International 100-Second Film Festival picked out Damascus as the international center for the festival.
Damascus has been selected to serve as the international center of the festival, secretary of the festival Hossein Rabbani told .
“Managing director of the international committee Behnam Bahadori, advisor Ali Tehrani and I will be traveling to Syria on Tuesday to meet with the country’s art and cultural figures,” he said.
“Iran and Syria enjoy cultural commonalities. Syrian Cinema and its actors enjoy a good rating in the Arab world and Iran has made good use of these potentials in different projects.
“Syrian cinema and cultural figures of the country can act as a bridge to connect the festival with the Arab world and provide the chance for increased interaction between Iranian and Arab cineastes, he added.
Tehran’s Art Bureau, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and several other organizations are among the cosponsors of the event which will take place in March.
