Azerbaijan`s five finalists to participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2011 announced
Baku, January 18 (AzerTAc). The Public television channel of Azerbaijan has announced five winning performers from their semi-finals to represent the country at Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The SMS-voting gave as a result the following lucky names: Ilhama Gasimova, Ilqara Ibrahimova Aynishan Guliyeva, Eldar Gasımov and Nigar Jamal.
The five young singers got through a series of castings and semi-finals to reach the final. They now aim to represent Azerbaijan at the first semi-final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest to take place on Tuesday 10th of May in Düsseldorf.
Azerbaijan has always reached a Top-10 result since their debut in the competition in Belgrade in 2008, and Always is the title of their best placing so far, third in Moscow in 2009 with Arash & Aysel.
