Azerbaijan`s Ombudsperson meets PACE co-rapporteurs
Baku, February 2 (AzerTAc). Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova has met PACE co-rapporteurs Joseph Debono Grech and Pedro Agramount.
Suleymanova briefed the co-rapporteurs on Ombudsman Institute`s activities to ensure and protect human rights in the country. She noted Azerbaijan, which is a party to the European Convention on Human Rights, is successfully implementing human rights obligations.
Suleymanova pointed out the establishment of the Ombudsman Institute in Azerbaijan was one of the country`s obligations towards the Council of Europe.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
