Caspian nations to eye sturgeon fishing moratorium in Astana

Baku, February 5 (AzerTAc). The Kazakhstan`s Agriculture Ministry has worked out the draft international agreement on imposing moratorium on commercial fishing for sturgeon in the Caspian.
The Kazakh Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture are elaborating on the issue regarding the conduct of the meeting of five Caspian nations in Astana on February 14-15. The event will deal with the moratorium.
According to the Agriculture Ministry`s press service, the problem of conservation and restoration of sturgeon population is transboundary and applies to all Caspian littoral states – Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkmenistan.
