Nations should pay a high price for freedom: Iranian major general
TEHRAN, Feb.10(MNA)-- Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said any nation like Egypt which is trying to gain independence and freedom to determine its own fate should pay a high price.
“It is hard to achieve your ideals without sacrificing your life and properties,” Safavi, the top military advisor to the Supreme Leader, said on Wednesday.
He also said the United Stated and the Zionist regime will face successive political and economic failures in the current century due to the “great” Islamic Revolution in Iran.
The former commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps went on to say that today the world is witnessing how Muslims welcome martyrdom for their own faith, a culture that was promoted during Saddam Hussein’s war against Iran in the 1980s.
This effective culture has spread to other Islamic nations, and has dramatically transformed the attitude of those people who believe in Islam and Quran, he added.
Safavi also commented on the campaign against the Zionist regime and said that resistance is the key to success of the Lebanese and Palestinian nations.
