Iran’s new ambassador to South Korea submits credentials
TEHRAN, Feb.10(MNA) -- Iran’s new Ambassador to South Korea Ahmad Masoumifar submitted his credentials to South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Wednesday.
In his meeting with the president, Ambassador Masoumifar conveyed the warm greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and announced Iran’s readiness to promote cooperation with South Korea.
Lee said Iran plays an “influential” role in the international scene and described Tehran-Seoul relations as “friendly”.
Given Iran’s strategic location South Korea is eager to expand ties with this country despite certain limitations, Lee added.
