`Azerbaijan achieved rapid growth`

Baku (AzerTAc) - “Although Azerbaijan is a young democracy, it has experienced rapid growth within short span of time,” visiting OSCE PA Vice-President Wolfgang Grossruck said at a meeting with Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis Bahar Muradova.
Muradova hailed the visit of Grossruck, coordinator of the Azerbaijan post-election mission, underlining such trips take bilateral relations forward. She noted Azerbaijan is interested in expanding ties with OSCE`s structures. The report on the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan was put onto the agenda of the OSCE PA winter session.
Muradova noted statements of some OSCE observation mission members do not coincide. She said some minor shortcomings during the election did not affect final results.
Grossruck pointed out Azerbaijan achieved tremendous accomplishments after regaining its independence, strengthened its economy and democracy. According to him, Azerbaijan deserves international support for this development.
OSCE PA Vice-President underscored instability in the region is a huge obstacle to all-round development of Azerbaijan.
Discussions also dealt with results of parliamentary elections, future cooperation, bilateral relations and other issues.
