Iranian visual arts festival opens in Austria and France

TEHRAN, Feb.12(MNA) -- The 3rd Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts was inaugurated in Austria and France on Thursday featuring selected photos, cartoons and posters.

The selected works are on display at Rudolfsheim district in Vienna and Iran’s Cultural Office in Paris, the Public Relations Office of the festival announced on Friday.

Iranian exhibition centers in Venice and Rotterdam are also displaying Iranian visual artworks, the report added.

Syria and Ghana are the other two foreign countries showcasing Iranian visual artworks.

The festival officially opened on February 6 at the Iranian Artists Forum, Niavaran Cultural Center, Saba Art and Cultural Institute, and Tehran’s Palestine Museum of Contemporary Art.

Art centers in 20 other provinces are also hosting the event. A collection of 1600 artworks are on display in the different categories of Islamic art, new art, and exhibits by veteran artists. Several provinces are also holding workshops during the festival.
