Turkey is making efforts to determine fate of Iranian deputy defense minister

TEHRAN, Feb. 13(MNA) -- Asked about the case of former Iranian deputy defense minister Alireza Asgari who was abducted by Mossad agents in Turkey in 2006, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said if he receives any new information about the issue, he will inform Tehran.

He added that the Turkish security and intelligence agencies together with the Interior Ministry and relevant ministries are pursuing the case.

Asgari was abducted in Turkey on December 9, 2006. However, the Zionist media outlets had previously claimed that Asgari defected to the West and was granted asylum in a Western country.

Asgari has reportedly died in detention in Israel. Zionist sources have claimed that Asgari had committed suicide in a solitary confinement in Israel’s Ayalon prison, but there are reports that spy agency Mossad has killed Asgari.
