Iran`s expediency council chairman hails high turnout in national rallies
TEHRAN, Feb.13(MNA) -- Iran`s Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani praised the Iranians for their massive and glorious participation in the rallies marking the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The people’s high turnout indicates their loyalty to the Islamic Revolution, Rafsanjani stated at the meeting of the Expediency Council on Saturday.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Rafsanjani said the coincidence of Iran’s revolution anniversary and the victory of the Egyptian uprising is “auspicious”.
The uprisings in Muslim countries take place as Muslim nations are becoming aware of the developments in the world, he noted.
Rafsanjani also stated that the Egyptian uprising can inspire the people of African and Arab countries to rid themselves of the oppression by the hegemonic powers.
The victory of the Egyptian uprising dealt a heavy blow to the Zionist regime, he added.
