Sanctions will not undermine Iranians’ resolve
TEHRAN (MNA) - Tehran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, said that imposing sanctions on Iran will have no effect on the nation’s resolve.
Roknabadi made the remarks at a ceremony held in Beirut on Saturday to mark the 32nd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
The ceremony was attended by a number of senior Lebanese officials including 16 ministers as well as the representatives of President Michel Suleiman, Prime Minister Najib Mikati, and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
Ambassador Roknabadi said, “The policy of imposing economic sanctions on Iran will bear no fruit, rather it increases our self-confidence, determination and resolve to make progress.”
He also emphasized Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear technology.
