OLYMPICS (BADMINTON) - RI'S MARIA KRISTIN WINS BRONZE MEDAL
Beijing, Aug. 16 (ANTARA) - Indonesian shuttler Maria Kristin Yulianti finally won a bronze medal in Badminton women's single match after defeating Chinese rival Lu Lan 11-21, 21-13, 21-15, in the Beijing Olympics 2008, here on Saturday.
Kristin unexpectedly came out as the winner in the semi final game after being easily defeated 11-21 in the first set. She, however, played calmly and performed better in the second and third sets.
With Kristin's victory, Indonesia has so far bagged three bronze medals, including two from weightlifting earlier in the Olympics.
The Indonesian government has pledged to provide Rp150,000,000 as a bonus for each bronze medalist.
