Iranian lawmakers call for prosecution of the sedition`s leaders "Mousavi, Karroubi"

TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (MNA)-- 223 Iranian lawmakers issued a statement on Tuesday, demanding the prosecution of the opposition leaders following the anti-government demonstrations.
In the statement, the MPs emphasized that the leaders of sedition Mahdi Karroubi and Mirhossein Mousavi must be held responsible for the unrest.
As the statement was read out, the MPs chanted “Down with Monafeq” “Down with Mousavi and Karroubi,” “Mousavi and Karroubi Must Be Executed.”
The people have lost their patience and all demand that the opposition leaders should face the most severe punishment, the statement read.
Mr. Karroubi and Mr. Mousavi organized the rallies under the pretext of expressing solidarity with the Egyptian nation, but in fact they showed subservience to the United States and Israel, the statement added.
The MPs also emphasized that the move was a plot hatched by the U.S. and the Zionist regime.
Moreover, they assured the Egyptians and Tunisians that the Iranian nation will never let the mercenaries of the U.S. and Israel mislead their revolutions through hatching plots.
